Its a historical complex,a branch of history museum of st.petersburg. the architectural highlight of it,is the catheral. its also a landmark and can be seen from the city!
It is amazing to stand within the walls and know that so much history was created there. Either going with a tour guide, or reading a little bit about what it was, and now is, will be helpful.
Beautiful to walk around, but they ask you to pay for anything extra, and its not cheap. Also we got an electronic tour guide and had to walk all the way back to entrance to return it
The Governor House has a fantastic St Pete history exhibition with speaking telephones and a miniature house with amazingly detailed rooms - definitely worth a visit!
